Robert W. Chesson

Robert W. Chesson, Esq. is the managing partner of the Landlord Law Firm, a boutique law firm that provides both landlord and property management representation. Landlord Law Firm has been representing the interests of property owners and managers in Connecticut for over 16 years. Robert has handled more than ten thousand summary process matters and countless other disputes between landlords and tenants, including low-income public housing and large commercial lease litigation alike. He has also worked on a wide range of fair housing related matters in private negotiations, public agencies, state courts and federal court. The Landlord Law Firm currently represents residential landlords who manage more than 25,000 residential units and commercial landlords who manage more than 500,000 square feet of commercial space throughout the State of Connecticut. Besides tenant disputes, Robert also handles commercial collections litigation, fair housing defense and consults with perspective property owners on tenant-related issues during their property acquisitions.

Robert currently serves as the Vice President for Associate Affairs of the Connecticut Apartment Association (“CTAA”) Board of Directors and has recently earned Lifetime tenure on that Board and is an active member of the National Apartment Association, serving as a Connecticut Delegate to the NAA Capital Conference in Washington, D.C. He serves on the CTAA Tradeshow and Legislative Action Committees. The Landlord Law Firm is frequently featured as the guest presenters for seminars and training for property owners and management companies throughout Connecticut.

Landlord Law Firm also publishes a monthly newsletter, The Landlord Advocate, which recently changed to video format, where they deliver the latest trends, stories, and legal news important to owners and managers throughout the state.

Robert graduated with honors from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He also graduated from The University of Connecticut School of Law with honors and began practicing law in Stamford. The Landlord Law Firm has found its home on the Downtown Milford Green since 2001.

Robert lives in Milford with his wife and three children.
