Adam Schweickert is a partner and trial lawyer at the Landlord Law Firm. As a trial lawyer, Adam has prosecuted thousands of summary process and collections actions on behalf of landlords and property managers against problem tenants, and resolved the problem or removed the tenant by agreement or trial and collected the money due. He has defended landlords facing fair housing, criminal prosecution, and other litigation, and consulted with them to avoid facing the underlying issues in the first place. Adam is also primarily responsible for managing the “complex” matters that the Landlord Law Firm Team handles.
Adam also consults with landlords and property managers regarding their business processes and operations, including lease review, drafting, and amendments; regulatory compliance; property management operations involving tenants, such as application and tenant screening, rent collection, inspections and unit-related maintenance, services, and rehabilitation, and problem tenant resolution; and due diligence in property acquisition.
Adam is an honors graduate of the University of Notre Dame, a graduate of The Travelers Insurance Company’s training programs on employee benefits operations and casualty insurance underwriting, financial program development, and operations (from his years between college and law school), and honors graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law and its Criminal Clinic. He clerked for the Honorable Robert N. Chatigny, U.S. District Judge in the District of Connecticut in Hartford, and the Honorable Wade Brorby, U.S. Circuit Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Adam lives in North Haven with his wife and two children.
